About Compounding

 
Compounding your medication refers to the individual formulating of your medicine to meet specific health care needs for each patient.  To do this the triad relationship is important between the patient, the doctor and the compounding pharmacist.
There are many reasons for compounding:
  • Patient is allergic/sensitive to dyes or preservatives.
  • Patient is sensitive to the standard strength of medication.
  • Patient cannot swallow medication.- Medication can be prepared in many different easy to take forms.
  • Medication is discontinued commercially or unavailable commercially.
